This is a fun little story whichs shows while I still use a Pebble smartwatch 5 years after the company shut down.
In 2018 my Mum moved to the Isle of Wight where she grew up. It’s an small island off the south coast of the larger island where I live.
The island has a really interesting history to it, and is a place I enjoy visiting. One of my favourite bits of history the island is tied up with is Operation Pluto, the WWII operation used to deliver fuel to the allies during D-day....
For the longest time I’ve accessed my home assistant through an SSH tunnel when I’m away from home. But I recently did some digging into how the login system works now, and it’s much more secure than it once was. Enough that with 2FA enabled, I’m happy exposing it directly to the internet on 443.
I use Nginx as a gateway to my network, everything that comes from the internet and speaks HTTP needs to go through it....
New year - New me, right?
Probably not, but either way the old blog is gone as I didn’t really use it. The few posts that where here still exist, just unlisted. Last year most of the stuff I wrote online was split between Willow Systems and some other online blogs that aren’t associated with my real identity.
Starting this year I want to write more, and that starts with a new blog....
